There was a dedication in honor of U.S. Navy Corpsman, HM3 Charles Crawford a 1959 Fayetteville High School Graduate this afternoon.  HM3 Crawford was the recipient of the nations second highest award for valor.  He received both the Navy Cross and Silver Star (Posthumously) as a result of his heroic actions during Operation PRAIRIE IV, Quang Tri Province, Republic of Vietnam in which he lost his life while saving that of another.  This project was done in honor our former high school graduate and it was done with 100% donations, a special thanks to all that donated.  Specifically, Holden Concrete Construction, The Wells Group, and the Knights of Columbus, Fr. Sourd Council 2423.

A special thanks to Mrs. St Clair and the Fayetteville Marching Band for their outstanding performance at today's event.

State Senator Joe Uecker and State Representative Doug Green presented Proclamations on behalf of HM3 Crawford.  Also in attendance were VFW District 4 representatives, Fayetteville council members, personnel from the Police and Fire Department, Board of Education members as well as community members.
